About the Speakers

Prithvi Virasinghe, Senior Games Producer, MTV Networks & Comedy Central, Professor at Parsons College in NYC.
Prithvi Virasinghe is a game development professional focusing on play, interaction design and community building that combines digital media and socialization. He currently works at Comedy Central creating gaming products across multiple digital distribution platforms such as the web, xbox live arcade and ipod. He also has great interest in social software that uses the principles of game design to better social interaction and foster learning. He has an MFA degree in Design and Technology from Parsons School of Design, New York, and has been working in the design and new media field for over 8 years.

Analisa Tamayo, Product Manager, Online Games Platform @ MTV
Analisa Tamayo is the Product Manager for the Online Games platform team at MTV Networks. She currently works with MTV, Comedy Central, VH1, Nickelodeon, and Addicting Games to develop and manage cutting-edge community products for online games. She is particularly interested in bridging the space between television and the online community through games. Her current products include Backchannel, a competitive chat game developed for MTV's The Hills, the Quiz Engine, a dynamic widget used to create quizzes and polls about on-air content, and applications for games developed for Facebook and Google's Open Social. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2004 with a B.A. in Social Anthropology and a B.A. in English.

Directions to the Point Loma Campus

At the entrance to the University, guests will be directed to the event venue.

From the North:
Traveling south on I-5, take the Rosecrans exit, (Highway 209 south). Proceed south on Rosecrans to Canon Street. Turn right. Follow Canon to Catalina Boulevard. Turn left onto Catalina, then right onto Lomaland Drive. The university entrance is at the top of the hill.

From the East:
Traveling west on I-8, take the Rosecrans exit, (highway 209 south). Proceed south on Rosecrans to Canon Street. Turn right. Follow Canon to Catalina Boulevard. Turn left onto Catalina, then right onto Lomaland Drive. The university entrance is at the top of the hill.

From the South:
Traveling north on I-5, take the airport exit. Follow the signs to the airport which will lead you to Harbor Drive until you come to Rosecrans, turn south (left), continuing on to Canon Street and turn right. Follow Canon to Catalina Boulevard. Turn left onto Catalina, then right onto Lomaland Drive. The university entrance is at the top of the hill.
